Driving


Driving from North of the Massachusetts Turnpike:
Take U.S. Route 7 South and follow the signs to Stockbridge. Please turn onto Main Street, then Pine Street.

Driving from or through Pennsylvania, New York, or New Jersey:
Take the New York Thruway North (I-87) to exit 21A. Then exit at the intersection of I-90 (Berkshire Spur section of the Thruway) and proceed East to Exit 10 (formely exit 2) of the Mass Pike  (Lee, Mass.). Turn left, then right to take Mass. Route 102 West to Stockbridge.

Driving from Connecticut and other points south of the Mass Pike:
Take U.S. Route 7 North from Connecticut and follow the signs to Stockbridge. You will come to a four-way stop at the Main Street of Stockbridge, and will need to go straight onto Pine Street, and stay straight to the right where the road forks.

Driving from the East via the Mass Pike:
Take Exit 10 (formerly exit 2) and follow Mass. Route 102 West to Stockbridge.

 

Airports

Albany, N.Y. (ALB), and Hartford, Conn. (BDL) are both a one hour drive from us.  Boston’s Logan Airport (BOS), is a two 2 hour drive to the Shrine.

 

Ground Transportation

Plan to rent a car, if you arrive by bus, train, or plane. We are in a rural area, and there are no reliable taxis, Ubers or Lyfts.  Please see the Public Transportation section for information on Buses and Trains to our area.

 

RV's

Pilgrims are allow to park their RVs in the parking lot for the day. We do not allow overnight parking.

Please note that most train and bus services end in Pittsfield, Mass., and there are NO reliable taxis, Ubers or Lyfts in our area. If you arrive in Pittsfield or Albany, you will need to rent a car.

We recommend Googling “hotels in Stockbridge, MA” first, as that will give you a map of all the hotels within 10-15 minutes, regardless of which town they are in. We suggest that pilgrims CALL the hotel of their choice before booking online, and ask if they offer a discount for those visiting the Shrine, as many do. It may (or may not) be better than any rate you can get online.

 

Local Attractions

Stockbridge is proud to be home to both the Norman Rockwell Museum and Chesterwood (Daniel Chester French’s summer home). Tanglewood, the summer home for the Boston Symphony, is shared with the adjacent town of Lenox. The area also boasts the Berkshire Theatre Festival, Shakespeare and Company, Jacob’s Pillow and MANY other natural (ice caves, hiking trails and ski resorts) and cultural attractions.
