The Immaculate Conception Candle Shrine

Welcome to the Immaculate Conception Candle Shrine.

Built in the mid 1990's, the Immaculate Conception Candle Shrine is located opposite the Lourdes Grotto.  The Shrine is dedicated to the Holy Souls in Purgatory.

Each of its three alcoves flicker with the lights of hundreds of votive candles, bearing the prayer intentions of fellow visitors.

Behind the candles, the walls have granite memorial plaques for deceased loved ones, and at their center, a mosaic image.

The mosaic images in the alcoves illustrate the Church’s teaching on Purgatory, especially the need to pray for our deceased loved ones.

The two end mosaics depict St. Stanislaus Papczynski’s and St. Faustina’s experiences in Purgatory,

And the center mosaic depicts Christ drawing souls into the heavenly glory of the Most Holy Trinity.

Due to its quiet and somewhat shaded location, it is a good spot to spend a few moments in prayer on a warm summer afternoon, and a good spot to light a candle for a loved one.

Access to this shrine may be limited during the winter months
