Feast of the Assumption

The Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a Holy Day of Obligation.

However, the obligation to attend Mass is abrogated when the Feast falls on a Saturday or a Monday, as it does in 2020.

This year, we will not hold a special Rosary Procession, due to the health crisis, but

we will celebrate our "COVID regular" daily schedule and our concluding Mass to our

Triduum of Masses in honor of Our Lady:

1:00 - 2:00       Drive Through Confessions (In the field beyond the main parking lot)

2:00                 Mass outside at the Mother of Mercy Outdoor Shrine

3:00                 The Chaplet of The Divine Mercy and Benediction at the Mother of Mercy Outdoor Shrine

3:30 - 4:15       Drive Through Confessions (In the field beyond the main parking lot)

 

The Gift Shop is also open from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm every day.

 

The Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is very special to the Marians. We celebrate a Triduum of Masses on August 13, 14, and 15 to proclaim that Mary, the Mother of our Savior, never experienced the corruption of the grave and that she was assumed into heaven, body, and soul, at the end of her earthly journey.

As a loving tribute to Mary, we place roses at her statue in the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy each year, during this Triduum of Masses.
