For decades, the Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception have envisioned a life-size Stations of the Cross to grace the grounds of the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy. As we all know, God answers prayers.
As the Marian Fathers at the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy prepare for the blessing of the new life-size Stations of the Cross this Friday, employees and religious had the opportunity to partake in history.
Early in the morning on April 5, a large 18-wheel truck ascended Eden Hill in Stockbridge, Mass., to deliver four large crates — the bronze statues for 10th and 11th stations of the life-size Stations of the Cross being installed on the hill facing the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy.
When we accept The Divine Mercy, we welcome the Way, the Truth, and the Life — the path back from the despair of sin and into full friendship with God. Likewise, when we meditate on the 14 Stations of the Cross, we can receive a visceral appreciation of just how much God loves us, that He sent His Son to assume human form and die a tortuous death in reparation for our sins.
Exciting things are happening on Eden Hill in Stockbridge, Mass. — exciting things that are sure to enhance the spiritual experience and safety of pilgrims visiting the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy and its grounds.
Thanks to a generous benefactor, the Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception are constructing a Stations of the Cross on the grounds of Eden Hill. The first four stations were delivered on a rainy April 19 — fittingly during Holy Week.
